Why are these important?
The hip muscles are the main power source that drives us forward in movement. At P.volve, we open up the full range of mobility within your hips.
The risk of immobile or tight hips is that the force created through the body during movement will not be well distributed and will create stress on the ankles, knees, hips and spine. The more balanced, strong and mobile the hips are, the better the mechanics of everyday movement.
My hips click when doing certain exercises. Should I get my hips checked?
This could be due to tightness in certain hip muscles. Doing more hip stretching may help with tightness and relieve the clicking.
Painful clicking or popping in the hips could also be caused by tendons snapping over hard surfaces (like bone) or could also be coming from the labrum or hip joint. Popping/clicking without pain is not necessarily problematic, but if it is painful, then we recommend getting it checked out by a medical professional.
